Usually melamine faced boards have a chipboard core - Melamine Faced Chipboard (MFC) but can be made upon request and usually with longer delivery time also on:
- MDF - Medium Density Fiberboard
- Lightweight boards or honey comb core
- Flame retardant boards
- Moisture resistant boards
- Fungus resistant boards
Application of MFC boards demands the use of edging which is normally made in ABS plastic but can also be real veneer or solid wood, depending on the design and functionality.
Edging of the furniture can be supplied in the exact same decor as the decor of the board or as a replication of board decor. On the market there is many different suppliers with large variety of products designed for different purposes. Most common is for indoor furniture production but can also have special purpose such as use in bathrooms, construction, outdoor, etc. For producing the bathroom furniture ( bathroom counters, shelves etc ) we suggest to our clients the use of waterproof melamine boards which are reliable and easy to maintain, especially in demanding contract specifics.
